Student Life at Loyola

College isn’t only about academic growth—it’s also a time to form connections, pursue your interests, and try new things. The Department of Student Life & Ministry (SLM) offers endless ways for you to get involved and do whatcha wanna outside the classroom! 

You can explore leadership development and engagement opportunities through student organizations, fraternity and sorority life, new student programs, university traditions, and more. We are here to help you make the most of your Loyola experience. Visit our office on the Lower Level of the Danna Student Center or connect with us online! 
 

Find Your Fit

One of the best ways to enrich your collegiate years is to join clubs and organizations that fit your interests. With more than 100 student organizations on Loyola’s campus, you’ll find plenty of ways to get involved—whether you want to take action to support the environment, prepare for law school, learn the latest K-Pop dance moves, or let loose and play some board games. Go Greek

Loyola hosts 13 Greek organizations with rich traditions of friendship, philanthropy, service, and academia. Membership is open to all full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate students with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Learn more about how to join Sorority and Fraternity life at Loyola. Enhance Your Commute 

Our commuter students have many ways to stay active on campus! Spaces and places like Satchmo’s provide a space for recreation, student performances, gaming, and just taking a break. Commuter Assistants act as guides for commuter students to navigate campus life successfully, while the Commuter Student Association coordinates events like a weekly trivia night. 

Join an Intramural Team 

Sign up for intramurals as a free agent or with a group of friends! Intramurals started earlier this month and will run through the semester. Follow Campus Rec on Instagram to see upcoming sports leagues and events. For questions about intramural leagues, email getinvolved@loyno.edu 

Find a Recreational Club 

Club sports are self-organized and self-run university chartered student organizations that are sponsored by the Department of Student Life and Ministry. From soccer to dance to chess, you’ll find a mix of competitive and non-competitive opportunities. To find out more information, search HowlConnect for the specific club sport you are interested in and reach out to the president!
