Nursing student elected to leadership in nursing association
Katherine Wardlaw, a RN-BSN student, was elected to the position of Coordinator of the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN).
In this role, Katherine has attended several leadership conferences and has had the opportunity to participate in lobbying activities with Louisiana state house representatives. She also played an active role in planning and implementing the 2007 AWHONN Louisiana State Conference.
The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) is a nonprofit that promotes the health of women and newborns. The mission of the organization is to improve and promote the health of women and newborns and to strengthen the nursing profession through the delivery of superior advocacy, research, education and other professional and clinical resources to nurses and other health care professional.
