Distance Learning Program
The School of Nursing initiated the Off-Campus Learning Program (OCLP) to offer the bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree at a number of hospital sites throughout in Louisiana. More recently, the School of Nursing launched a completely online master of science in nursing (MSN) program with a focus on Health Care Systems Management.
School of Nursing Distance Learning Programs
Distance Learning Program (DLP) for the B.S.N. degree
Each semester a number of regular nursing courses are live streamed and videotaped in Loyola’s two state-of-the-art video classrooms. The class videos provide access to regular Loyola courses for RNs who live outside of the Greater New Orleans area. In addition, students living within the greater New Orleans area with special scheduling needs may also enroll in video courses. Students who take video courses (e.g., DLP students) complete the same assignments as on-campus students and take proctored exams.
Online Program for the M.S.N. degree
The Health Care Systems Management MSN program is available online to registered nurses with bachelor's degrees who have access to the internet. Information about the program may be found at www.loyno.edu/nursing/management.
Student Centered Distance Learning
Affordable
Recognizing the special financial needs of working adults, Loyola maintains a competitive tuition rate.
For employees participating in employer-sponsored tuition reimbursement programs, up to 90% of tuition and fees may be deferred until the end of the semester in which they are incurred.
Students who wish to use traditional financial aid programs should contact the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid at (504) 865-3231.
Student Services for Distance Learners
When visiting the main campus, distance students may make full use of all Loyola student services, including counseling and career placement.
Student Support for Distance Learners
Access to faculty advisers is provided through a toll-free number, facsimile, e-mail, and individual appointments. An extension librarian helps with these. For more information, please visit them on the web at www.loyno.edu/wac.
