The Loyola University New Orleans School of Nursing, based on Jesuit values, educates professional nurses who lead change and translate science into practice in a dynamic global health care environment.
The School of Nursing mission is based on our vision of “a world where every nurse is a leader.” As both an academic and professional school, we take seriously our core values.
We have graduated over 1000 baccalaureate and close to 500 graduate students since 1979. The School is poised to initiate a new Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and we maintain an active baccalaureate completion option, R.N. to M.S.N. and M.S.N. tracks as well.
Today, the School of Nursing is a leader on campus in innovative pedagogy. Faculty and staff share a vitality and commitment to leading-edge programs, online delivery, and excellence as part of the greater university effort for national prominence.
Our reach reflects a global perspective for providers and patients. We engage in partnerships consistent with our mission, faculty and students and promulgate the larger vision of excellence and access to education.
School of Nursing faculty, students and graduates make substantive contributions to effective models for access, quality, and cost of health care to reduce health disparities, promote health for all, and assure the efficacy of nursing care as nursing stands at the crossroads of a professional redefinition in health reform.
Building on the legacy of leadership at the School of Nursing, the College of Social Sciences, and the university, we are a force for nursing education and practice innovation, community engagement and the implementation of science to patients.
