Short Bio

Valerie Andrews joined the faculty in Fall 2007 as a full-time extraordinary faculty member in the public relations sequence.
Previously, she was an assistant professor of Mass Communication at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville.

She also has taught at  Louisiana State University, University of Southern Mississippi, and Tulane University.  She has a bachelor’s in journalism from Northwestern State University and a master’s in journalism from Louisiana State University. She has worked extensively in public relations and advertising for industries ranging from RVs and food service to printing and educational materials. Most notably: She is the great-granddaughter of the founder of her hometown Gonzales, La., the Jambalaya Capital of the World.
