  • American Cancer Society's Greater New Orleans office is seeking students to participate in its unpaid internship program working in the field of communications and marketing. Internships may be eligible for college credit. Interns will work with the Communications & Marketing Specialist whose role includes: implementing media campaigns within the market including the production and distribution of media materials, media pitching and measurement; managing media and volunteer relationships; providing marketing and public relations support for staff and events within the region; enforcing the organization's branding guidelines; serving as a media spokesperson on behalf of the Society for various cancer-related issues including the organization's legislative agenda. The successful candidate must be a full-time student, completed freshman year of college and declared a major. Must have a minimum G.P.A of 2.5.   • American Diabetes Association is seeking interns to work at its downtown office. The ideal candidate is interested in community outreach and has excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills including proof reading. The successful candidate also has proficient knowledge of PC computers and are able to perform Internet research. Candidates should have an interest in event management and media relations, be dependable and detail oriented. Position includes some general office administrative duties. Candidates are expected to work 10-20 hours per week with a flexible schedule suited to the selected candidate's needs. Candidates should be enrolled full or part-time in school. We are looking for an intern to assist with the promotion of our upcoming feature film, Brown Soup Thing, a comedy about Filipinos and Asians in America.
