Walter Thomas Gorman, A'97, is employed by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. He is one of three Chief Criminal Deputies and the Commander of the Criminal Investigations Bureau.

Gorman is involved as well in the recruiting, hiring and training of officers. His colleagues and he are working on new and innovative ways of addressing crime in the midst of a population shift. One of his daughters is a law school Alumni who works as an assistant district attorney at the Jefferson Parish District Attorney's Office.
