Master of Criminal Justice
Why a Master of Criminal Justice degree? The fields of criminal justice and private security are the fastest growing areas in terms of employment in the new millennium, and an advanced degree is fast becoming a necessity. The Master of Criminal Justice degree program is offered in response to the need for professionally trained criminal justice administrators, planners and researchers as well as private security professionals in the field.
The Master of Criminal Justice curriculum here at Loyola University New Orleans is 30 semester hours in length. Currently, regular semester courses are offered in an intensive weekend format on Friday nights and Saturdays. Summer courses are taught as intensive one-week courses. Beginning in the Fall 2007 semester, however, our Fall and Spring semester courses will be taught in the one night a week for eight weeks format. The Summer courses will continue to be taught in the "intensive one-week" format.
