Short Bio
Justin Levitov is a professor in the Department of Counseling. In the past 27 years, he has also held administrative posts serving for six years as chair of the department and nearly four years as director of the counseling program. He has co-authored three text books (currently working on his fourth), published almost two dozen articles, several book chapters, one book review and numerous papers, presented at local, regional and national conferences. Most recently, his work on a new protocol for treating couples, Tandem Couples Therapy, has captured the interest of family counseling agencies, clinicians of various disciplines and national professional associations. He is an active member of the Louisiana Counseling Association, the Louisiana Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the American Counseling Association and the National Rehabilitation Counseling Association. He holds current LPC licenses in Louisiana and North Carolina. He is also licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Louisiana and holds a national certification in Rehabilitation Counseling (CRC). He continues to treat individuals and families in a limited private practice.
