Short Bio

Ellen Levitov, LPC, LMFT is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Counseling.  She completed her Master of Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of Florida and received recognition for her clinical experience by being awarded the “Clinician of the Year.”  Ms. Levitov has co-authored a book, Overcoming Math Anxiety published by Addison/Wesley, 1999.  Ms. Levitov was employed for 28 years at the University of New Orleans, originally as a counselor and later as Director of Student Support Services Program, a federally funded program that assists low-income, first-generation college students. 

Ms. Levitov has a lengthy list of conference presentations in the following areas: counseling (both clinical and career), math anxiety, and college retention efforts. From 2000-2006, she was a faculty member for a national training program for college counselors sponsored by American Counseling Association and Council for Opportunity in Education.  Her areas of specialization are: Career Counseling and Supervision.
