Alumni Spotlight: Tonya Vidal Kinlow , '83

Tonya Vidal Kinlow, a political science graduate, has become the first ombudsman for public education in the District of Columbia.

A 1983 Loyola graduate, Ms. Kinlow is a former D.C. school board member. She was on a board search committee for the ombudsman, and other members were so impressed with her work that they urged her to apply.

At the time, Ms. Kinlow was vice president for government relations for the District of Columbia Hospital Association. She has also been a public policy advocate for the National Medical Association and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
